The flavor profile is amazing
Used these beans to make stove top espresso using my 3-cup moka pot. I used a ceramic burr coffee grinder that I ordered from Daraz. And a coffee filter and a digital scale too. I put around 12g finely ground coffee in the moka pot basket. The basket is not completely full, as otherwise a full dose 17g coffee is too much caffeine for me. I use the moka pot coffee to make Americano/Cortado at home. The taste is nice. It has some earthy notes, but I think that it might be from the darker roast. The experience is nice. The coffee is a million times better than instant.
If you're looking to make moka pot coffee at home, please don't follow James Hoffman's method. As his method is only for specialty coffee which is lightly roasted. Whereas moka pots shine with medium to dark roasts.
Just put cold water in the basket, unlike James Hoffman. If the coffee is coming out a bit too weird, try to put less water in the chamber, as darker roasts are easy to extract, and don't need a lot of water. (I put around 3-4 mm below the safety valve)
Keep playing with the grind size, coffee amount, water level, and water quality to find your perfect cup.
P.S. Remember to close the moka pot tightly, so that steam doesn't escape from the sides. I use a wet coffee filter like James Hoffman, which allows the gasket to seal a bit better.
Although it’s a tad bit expensive to buy every month. Hopefully we get a subscription box soon. Still 9/10 coffee
Perfect !
Loved it!
